Sound calibrator AZ 8930

Compact AZ 8930 calibrator is a portable sound source suitable for many portable sound level meters.

It is intended for the adjustment of sonometers equipped with a head with a diameter of 13.2 mm. After inserting the sonometer head into the calibrator socket, the signal is generated with a constant frequency, set by the user. This allows the sound level meter to be adjusted to match the output of the calibrator as closely as possible.

The user can select three levels (94 dB, 104 dB and 114 dB) at 1000 Hz. Built-in LED informs the user about the selected sound pressure level. A frequency of 1000 Hz enables the calibration of sound level meters with any frequency weighting (LIN, A, B, ...) without using a correction factor.

Small dimensions and weight allow the calibrator to be used in all conditions, both in the laboratory, test room and in the field. The 114 dB sound level allows calibrations to be performed even in environments with high noise levels.

AZ 8930 is powered by two 1.5V alkaline batteries, type AAA. The batteries allow for continuous operation for about 50 hours. The device has an automatic power cut-off function after 20 minutes of inactivity and LED battery level indicator.
